Making Your Life Work, Turning the Corner
“Where I live, we are turning the corner toward spring. Days are longer. Temperatures are warmer. Birds are singing louder, it seems. Even the news about the COVID-19 crisis shows signs of hope. I am hearing of states opening up, schools reopening so children can get back in the classroom. Some experts are saying we may be approaching a herd immunity. My mood is lifting; how about yours?
Anxiety and depression have been on the increase as people have been locked down and dealing with the impact of the pandemic. And while there is hope that it is ending, we still have a ways to go—and we will see the long-term effects in people. You will come into contact with those whose lives have been altered. Your own life may never be the same.
We are dealing with larger spiritual matters when we consider the impact of this pandemic. It is more than virus. The fallout has changed fundamental aspects of society and the way we function and interact with others. It will take a spiritual perspective to understand the world going forward.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus Christ said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." All things, all these things, He said. What was He talking about? Well, He also noted, "Most people worry about life." But He said, "Don't worry." We can't do anything about a lot of the physical things that blind us and actually hide from us a spiritual dimension. Jesus essentially said, "Don't worry about those things. They can be taken care of. Don't overly obsess over them." It's another way of saying that joy is a bigger motivator than fear.
You need a spiritual goal in life and a reason to live for a higher purpose. You need a relationship with God to make your life work at the highest level. When your life is functioning in positive ways you will be able to help others. We call this making life work. There are principles and keys to making your life successful, filled with joy and working in an optimum manner.
Joy's a more powerful motivator than fear. So I ask you, what's your joy?
This week’s featured Beyond Today program is titled, Making Your Life Work.”
Life is Short
“Life is short, so praise God.

“[Steve Myers] Well, we've all heard the phrase, that "Life is short." Certainly, your Bible even tells us that life goes fast. It goes by very fast. One of the things that is evidence of that is a passage that's found in Psalm 103. Here in Psalm 103, beginning in verse 15, it reminds us of that. It says, "As for man, his days are like grass. He flourishes like a flower of the field. His blossoms comes up beautiful, but then," it says, "The wind passes over it. and it's gone. And its place knows it no more."
I mean, the message is, life is short. Life is short, and one thing that we need to remember is it goes by so quickly. And so, with that in mind, praise God. Worship Him. Put Him first in life. When life is short, will you recognize that? Remember, God has redeemed us. He's given us a Savior. Our sins can be forgiven. Life is short, so honor Him, and praise Him. He hasn't dealt with us the way that we deserve. We deserve death. And yet, we can be forgiven through our Savior Jesus Christ.
Life is short, so praise God. He has an amazing plan. He has an awesome thing in mind for every single one of us. And in fact, that next verse in Psalm 103 says this. "The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting." Life is short, so praise God.
Diabetes Reversal: Is It the Calories or the Food?
“So, we’re talking diabetics who’ve had diabetes as long as 20 years, injecting 20 units of insulin a day, and then, as few as 13 days later, they’re off insulin altogether, thanks to less than two weeks on a plant-based diet. Patient 15: 32 units of insulin on the control diet, and then, 18 days later, none. Lower blood sugars on 32 units less insulin. That’s the power of plants.” See complete article and video at: https://nutritionfacts.org/video/diabetes-reversal-is-it-the-calories-or-the-food/
