Winter Again!.

cold_cat (Small)It got cold again today, I mean really chilly, and drizzly, so we had to work in coats inside the workshop. There was no working outside today. Even what needs to be done in the RVport was postponed, as there was a cold wind in there. How different from yesterday. That's TX for you!

Bobcat was sitting by the patio door to the screen porch, asking to go out there. But when I opened the door she just turned around to sit by a radiator, then curled up in a laundry basket.
trying-to-fix (Small).bmp Ray and I fixed the switch on our favorite shop vac. Well, actually we don’t know what fixed it, we took it all apart, and found some factory wire nuts in there, unscrewed then, sprayed them with contact cleaner, and then it worked! It took quite a while to get it all back together. Then we fixed the cord on another shop vac, that we don’t like, so it could go in the yard sale.

I spent a lot more time looking into the health care programs. Even on the Medicare.gov site, which lists the ones available in my area. The Medicare Help Line had a very helpful lady. The benefits seem to vary so much from company to company. I am sure it is a case of “what you gain on the round-abouts, (merry-go-rounds), you loose on the see-saws”, they are all trying to make a profit.cartoon-on-hold (Small)

Penny what kind of contact cleaner do you use? Where do you buy it? I have never use it and not sure what it does.

Hi Vickie,
The best contact cleaner is supposed to be Caig's De-Oxit, and if you read Tioga George's journal, he praises it frequently. I couldn't find any locally when I needed some, so I got a can of CRC Electrical Grade Silicone Lubricant spray contact cleaner at Lowe's, "Lubricates, waterproofs & Protects. Provides Thin Clear Film. Food Grade Formula. NSF H1 Registered". But many other places carry similar ones. It works for me.
It is basically the same as the gel that comes with a new set of points for a vehicle, and fishing reels, it helps stop them from corroding.
It cleans the oxidation and dirt off electrical contacts, on phone connections, computer connections, and anything where contacts have to make good contact.
Hope that answers your question?
Happy Trails, Penny, TX
