More Sanding and Poly. Foster Kittens Back Here

I picked Jay up at 8.00 am, it was tank top weather.

We worked on the doors for the entertainment center in the Class B. I had bought some oak trim to go around inside the frames on the doors, we knew it was too wide, so we cut it down carefully, with the table saw. Then mitered it on the chop saw, and glued it in place. Now the doors will have their final sanding, and be polyurathaned. We have already dry fit them, and they look good.

Ray arrived and he worked on the oak for the Little Van. It should be all done tomorrow.

After lunch, Jay and I went into Conroe to pick up a few things, including my foster kittens. Kenya, my SPCA boss, has had them for over a week as they have just been spayed. She took them to Conroe Adoption Day, and I picked them up. Someone filled out an SPCA application for them, while they were at The Woodlands Adoption Day last week. But their vet said that he couldn't release info without their consent... that is a code that usually means "Not a suitable home", in a polite way. They were very happy to see me, and they are enjoying the screen porch now. They might have to sleep there tonight, as I have the 5 poodles sleeping in my grooming room tonight. There is only a dutch door between the grooming room to the "Middle Room" where the kittens normally sleep. If one of the kittens were to go over it, the poodles would be on them as a pack. I don't think that they would hurt each other, but I don't take chances.

The poodles don't mess with Bobcat, as she told them that she was the boss and matriarch, eight years ago when I started boarding them. They get two hours of "house time" each evening that they are here, and so I have 5 poodles at my feet right now. Bobcat walks right past them, and if one moves she gives them a "Don't Even Think About It" look.

The bottles of "beer" are for Speedhitch. The first picture is "Wet Snout Stout, Doggie Lager, Waggley Tail Pale Ale". The second is "Happy Pet Lager". Sorry Speedy, this is for dogs. Did I hear you barking ?

I saw that they had the parade for St. Patrick today.

Clever People Making an Income on the Road.

The guys are at Cleveland again today, so I am waiting for my boarders, and a dog to show up for grooming.

I love artistic people, and these folk make lovely items for sale. The first two, and the fourth picture, are of lovely beaded designs that Judy of http://jggrafx.com/ftroadrunners/ made, and she makes lovely trees made out of different colors of wire that must take ages to build.
I love hummingbirds, doesn't every one ? The third picture is Howard's (http://www.rv-dreams.com/), real Rufous Hummingbird on one of the feeders that they sell. Then here is his wife, Linda's lovely beaded bracelet of hummingbirds, among many other designs, that she sells. The other two are some of the beaded ornaments that Sandy of http://nativewyoming.blogspot.com/ makes. So it isn't that difficult to find something that you like to do, and make it into an extra income, while on the road.

As I shall be busy with my boarders, and grooming, I put some veges, pot roast, and onion soup mix in the crock pot, and it is going to cook all day.

Putting Humpty Back Together Again

I picked up Jay at 8.00 am, as they weren't working at Cleveland today. Here are all the parts for the Little Van laid out on tables in the workshop, most of them ready to re-install. It was like a puzzle doing the dash, but I didn't take a picture, yet, as we have a couple more pieces to install with some bolts and acorn nuts.
We got the dash, driver, passenger and two side door's oak installed. Some of the back door "furniture" isn't ready yet. Then I drove it to Conroe to return and buy some things. I couldn't get the power seat to go up high enough, so I am not comfortable driving it. So I sat on a pillow, but it drives great.

One thing that I returned was the Havahart Trap that I bought to catch "Tom Gray", the straggly cat that has been "living" here for the last couple of months. Shay and I knew that if we caught him, we wouldn't have the heart to just turn him over to the 'dog catcher'. He would be shoved into one of those open air metal cages on the pound truck, and then be looped by the neck, and dragged into goodness only knows where, before they put him to sleep. He would be so scared. He is comfortable here, and feels secure. We are going to let him live out his numbered days right here.

I am boarding two neighbor's dogs, while they are out of town until tomorrow, and they stay in the house with Bobcat and me. One is my late DH's poodle. Then the 5 poodles that I board for a stewardess, sorry, flight attendant, will be here for the next three days, in the grooming room.

Tom Gray let Shay and me pet his head, so this is a special day.
