Real Rambo came from Alabama. Prop B, Yeah!

"Robert Lewis Howard (July 11, 1939 – December 23, 2009) was a highly decorated United States Army soldier and Medal of Honor recipient of the Vietnam War. He was wounded 14 times over 54 months of combat, was awarded 8 Purple Hearts, 4 Bronze Stars, and was nominated for the Medal of Honor three separate times. He was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on February 22, 2010."

"Thousands of dogs will soon enjoy a better life -- and they have you to thank.

Missourians voted YES! on Prop B, and chose to save dogs suffering in Missouri puppy mills.

You made this victory happen. Whether you donated to keep our TV ads on the air, spent your nights phone banking for Prop B, hit the pavement with leaflets, gathered signatures from registered voters, or engaged your friends and family in Missouri -- you helped show millions of Missouri voters what Prop B would mean for dogs.

We are grateful to the citizens of Missouri for voting to crack down on puppy mill abuses and establish common-sense standards for the care of dogs at large scale facilities. Finally these creatures will have relief from being crammed into small and filthy cages, without veterinary care, exercise, or human affection. If we can do it here in the nation’s largest puppy mill state, we are more likely to see similar reforms enacted in other states, where the industry is not nearly as strong and entrenched."

Today:

Ray raked up some of the multitude of pine needles that have fallen from the blowing rains, while I took a neighbor for a 'quick' run into our town.  That turned out to be more involved, isn't it always!

Then I helped Ray rake up a lot more.  It started to sprinkle, so we quit that.   We have a big pile of pine needles to burn now, but it was too windy.  Anyway, I haven't checked to see if the Burn Ban is off.

At lunch time, the same neighbor decided that they needed to go for another 'quick' trip all the way to the next town, so I grabbed a sandwich and banana to eat on the way.  That got to be more than I was told, too, but I did find some things that I couldn't find yesterday, so it was not in vain.

It is a chilly, 'intermittent wiper' day.

Glad Prop B passed. You are a great neighbor to run these people all over the place. The world needs more folks like you.
