"Sometimes referred to as "the miracle mineral," this time-honored household ingredient is the natural solution for just about everything under your roof, from cleaning to insect control.
Borax, also known as sodium borate, is an a naturally occurring substance and an eco-friendly solution for many things around the house. Most commonly used as a cleaning agent and pest control, the uses extend far beyond that.
Here are 25 to get you started. Let us know about your own special uses and we'll keep updating the list.

(Safety Warning: Just because borax is natural, that doesn't mean it's harmless. You should always use gloves when handling it and keep it out of reach of children and pets. While safe in the diluted solutions borax could be very harmful to children and pets if ingested.)"

PEST CONTROL
1. Keep roaches, waterbugs, and ants away by sprinkling a combination of equal parts all-natural borax and sugar.
2. Keep the mice out by sprinkling borax on the floor along the wall.
3. Get rid of bed bugs by sprinkling borax on your mattress. Let it sit and vacuum it up.
4. Kill fleas by sprinkling borax on your carpet. Leave it for an hour and vacuum it up thoroughly.

Today:

P&P-2 It has been cool enough to let the foster cats go out on the screened porch, before their breakfasts every day this week.  Then it starts to get clammy, and they are happy to come in and eat.  They know that they eat in the Grooming Room, and they are used to being in there for the mornings while we are working, then they come back in the house.  If I am slow in letting them out of the Grooming Room, Patches taps her nails on the glass in the door.

I picked up Jay, then we stopped here to load the Puddle Jumper with all the tools we would need to cut out the floor in the cargo/stealth trailer.  I can see why Jim, the mechanic/welder wanted it out of his way.

It didn't take long, just over an hour, and we brought the removed plywood, and the other wheel well cover back here to store, until we are ready to put it back.

Some of the old screws wouldn't come out, so I was going to come back here to get an 'easy-out', but Jim had one there, so he said he would do it.

I can hear the thunder, but it hasn't rained here today.

Pretty cats. They have always been my favorite animal, but we are both allergic, so can't have any. God bless you for fostering so many of them.

I have used Borax for many years, but not since I began RVing. Guess I need to get some and get reacquainted with it. I guess it is ok in holding tanks?

Thank y'all for your comments.
Gypsy, Yes, as it is like Calgon water softener, and that is all some folks use in their black tanks.
