Why Overheating Is More Common in Seniors:
Sometimes it gets too hot for this cooling mechanism to work, and it can become less efficient as you get older. A number of factors can put you at higher risk of overheating as you age, including:
- Decreased blood circulation
- Sweat glands that have become inefficient
- Weakness or fever due to age-related illness (such as heart, lung, or kidney disease)
- A salt-restricted diet for high blood pressure
- Certain medications (such as heart and blood pressure drugs, sedatives, and tranquilizers)
- Being overweight or underweight
- Lifestyle factors that range from living in a hot home and overdressing to a lack of transportation

I had several things to go do today, but I was expecting either Ray or Jay to show up, so I didn't go. Neither showed up or called, so I am a bit discombooberated.
discombooberated
- Completely out of adjustment, in a state of disarray or malfunction.

Doesn't that sound great?
Just a hot, quiet day.

When you don't go anywhere you don't spend money! I went out to drop books off at the library (can't read them anyway), stopped a couple of places and came home empty handed.
Thanks for your comment, Gypsy.
Oh, I can spend money without going anywhere, as I pay all the bills online.
I hope that your eyes will soon be better.
I can't even read the numbers in the phone book anymore! Why do they make the print so much smaller than they used to? Saving on ink?
When it gets to the hottest months we try to head someplace cooler. Right now we are in Douglas, Wyoming, and the temperature at 6 am is 53°F.
And to think of all those summers I spent down in the Houston area in the 60s and early 70s with no air conditioning at home or in our car. ;)
