Tax Day!

Income Tax Day One Liners
A penny saved is a government oversight.
Did you ever notice:  When you put the 2 words "The" and "IRS" together it spells "THEIRS"?
Taxgiving Day = April 15th
I'm a little worried about this year's income tax.  I think I made it out wrong.  I've got thirty-five cents left.
I don't know if we'll ever get a cure for poverty, but the way taxes and prices are going up, we've got a sure cure for wealth!
You should file your income tax, not chisel it.
Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?
America is the land of opportunity. Everybody can become a taxpayer.
It's hard to believe America was founded to avoid high taxation.
Americans are now in a daze from intaxication.
Drive carefully. Uncle Sam needs every taxpayer he can get.
A fool and his money are soon parted.  The rest of us wait until income tax time.
When making out your income-tax report, be sure you don't overlook your most expensive dependent — the government.
Making out your own income tax return is something like a do-it-yourself mugging.
A harp is a piano after taxes.
What this country needs most is a SPCTT - The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Taxpayers.
Death and taxes are inevitable, but death doesn't repeat itself.
Everything we have is taxed — even our patience.
"No mans property is safe while Congress is in session." — Mark Twain
"We do not seem able to check crime, so why not legalize it and then tax it out of business. "— Will Rogers
If your face is your fortune, you won't have to pay any income tax.
April is always a difficult month for Americans — even if your ship
comes in, the IRS is right there to help you unload it.
IRS:  We've got what it takes to take what you've got.

Ever wonder why the IRS calls it Form 1040?
Because for every $50 that you earn, you get 10 and they get 40.

Isn't it appropriate that the month of the tax begins with April Fool's Day and ends with cries of "May Day!"?

I tried to do the F R E E Turbo Tax.

FREE, yeah, right!!

The Infernal Revenue gets you coming and filing!

Then waste the money!

It was supposed to rain, but it hasn’t, so I will have to water the plants today.

There is a web site you can access from the IRS's site that lists free tax preparation servvices. There is an income limit, but being retired I fall well under the limit. For those who earn more, there is another site that is not affiliated with the IRS' list that will prepare your returns for free. My daughter did my taxes using TaxSlayer and it was totally free, plus they ask lots of questions to determine if you are eligible for tax breaks you aren't even aware of.

It is so easy to trash the IRS, but they don't make the tax laws - Congress does. In my younger days I worked for the IRS in their Central Regional Office, and I honestly think the majority of employees are honest, hard working, patriotic, and eager to to the best job. They are also bound by the most rules for personal job performance and personal conduct. Because no one likes to hand over their money, they tend to denigrate the agency and employees who are charged with the collection of it. Please, let's give credit, and blame, where it is due. Start with Congress if you want to blame, and then remember that we elect those officials.

I have met IRS folk, and they are good people, it is just a comedy we all do to put them down. No offense intended.

Yes, I was audited one time, I turned my hyperactive 3 year old son loose in their office, they soon got rid of me! I hope they don't audit me again, as he is now a hyperactive 41 year old. I don't think it would work now!

TaxSlayer wanted me to pay, too, but I did find a free one through the IRS site, and had already filed.
Thank you for your comment, and I can see that your eyes are better.
Thank The Lord.
